Glycerol is an important organic chemical raw material, it is an excellent hygroscopic agent, antifreeze agent, lubricant, solvent and co-solvent, is an important raw material for the production of polyester, explosives, medicine and so on.
1. Food industry: used as solvent, hygroscopic agent and color carrier. In flavoring and coloring foods, glycerin helps shape foods because of its stickiness. In the rapid freezing of food, glycerin can be used as a heat transfer medium in direct contact with food. Glycerol is also a lubricant for food processing.
2. Pharmaceutical industry: used as softener, viscosity improver and solvent. Glycerol can be used as a sedative, and nitroglycerin is a vasodilator in coronary spasm.
3. Daily chemical: used in cosmetics, toothpaste, food flavor additives, tobacco anti-drying agent
